Prisma

ORM, type-safe database queries

About

A next-generation ORM for TypeScript and Node.js. Uses a schema-first approach to define your data model, then generates a fully type-safe query client and SQL migrations — catching database errors at compile time instead of runtime.

Why

TypeScript types stop at the database boundary. [[schema][Prisma's schema]] extends that safety all the way down — if you change a field, the compiler tells you everywhere it broke before production does.

Notes

Define the schema once, get typed queries everywhere. The generated client feels like it belongs in a TypeScript project — not bolted on.

migrations being version-controlled and auto-generated from schema diffs is the part I didn't know I needed until I had it.
