A full-stack React framework by Vercel. Provides file-based routing, server-side rendering, static site generation, and React Server Components — rendering logic moves to the server, client JavaScript stays minimal.
Why
Needed SSR and proper SEO for a product landing page. App Router made the data layer cleaner than anything I'd used before with React.
Notes
Built a few sites with it now. Each one taught something different — the first was about auth and Firebase, this one is about staying as static as possible and keeping client JS minimal.
server components change how you think about data. Most pages here don't run any JavaScript on the client at all. That feels right.
You stop thinking about routing infrastructure and just build pages. That's the right level of abstraction.
