NestJS
Backend framework, dependency injection
About
A progressive Node.js framework for building efficient, scalable server-side applications. Uses TypeScript, decorators, and dependency injection to enforce modular architecture — controllers, services, guards, pipes, and interceptors out of the box.
Why
Express is fine but it doesn't teach you anything about structure. I wanted to understand dependency injection, guards, modules — the patterns that make backends maintainable. NestJS makes you think about it whether you want to or not.
Notes
decorators and dependency injection looked like magic at first. Then you read what the framework actually does — it's just a module system with metadata attached to classes. Express knowledge transfers directly.
The guards + pipes pattern is the thing I keep coming back to. Validate at the boundary, trust the types inside. That's clean design.
Still learning. Reading source, not just docs.
