A robust, open-source message broker implementing AMQP. Enables asynchronous communication between services through queues — producers send messages, consumers process them independently, decoupling system components.
Why
Needed the HTTP layer to respond immediately and process work separately. If something downstream is slow or down, the receiver shouldn't care — that's decoupling.
Notes
Accept now, process later. The two sides of the system don't know about each other — the receiver just puts messages in the queue and moves on.
retry logic logic is free. Failed messages requeue with a delay automatically — no setTimeout, no counters in application code. That changes how you think about failures.
