A platform for building, shipping, and running applications in containers. Packages code with all dependencies into isolated, reproducible environments — what works locally works the same in staging and production.
Why
If it works on my machine it needs to work everywhere. containers make the environment part of the project, not an assumption.
Notes
Docker Compose makes spinning up the full local stack — app, database, queue — a single command. That's the thing that sold me.
Still learning multi-stage builds builds and how to keep images small. The basics work. The production stuff is next.
